Oneness artist Kota's<\/p>\n

unique light art project,<\/p>\n

Where The Light Is<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n

was held at the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam.<\/p>\n

(June 16, 2023)<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

At this museum, where the works of legendary Dutch painters<\/p>\n

such as Rembrandt, Van Gogh, and Vermeer reside,<\/p>\n

the experience was both quiet yet profoundly<\/p>\n

moving to the soul.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>

In true overseas fashion,<\/p>\n

some people stopped and exclaimed loudly,<\/p>\n

\"Wait, look! Beautiful! It's art!\"<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Surely, the light of art<\/p>\n

must have illuminated (moved) someone's heart.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Next, that person might, in a different way,<\/p>\n

illuminate someone else's heart.<\/p>\n

It might be through inspiration,
\nor it might be through love.
\nThe spontaneous spreading of such circles of light
\nis, I believe, one of the significant meanings
\nof creating art as an artist.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Feeling these things firsthand at the scene,
\nand receiving direct feedback from people,
\nmade me realize how important
\nthis aspect is for an artist.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

After all, no matter the form,
\nit is only when the element of a \"platform for presentation\"
\nis included that \"expressive activity\" truly takes shape\u2014
\nthis is something I felt strongly.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>

Agriculture, fishing, forestry, industry,<\/p>\n

medicine, management, law\u2014<\/p>\n

these are necessary for humans,<\/p>\n

as animals, to live and thrive<\/p>\n

in human society.<\/p>\n

On the other hand,<\/p>\n

art (painting, music, literature, dance, sculpture,<\/p>\n

theater, etc.) may not necessarily<\/p>\n

be essential.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

However, in the end,<\/p>\n

humans are creatures<\/p>\n

that require both elements.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Because through art,<\/p>\n

people can enrich their hearts.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Through art,<\/p>\n

they can empathize with others,<\/p>\n

heal themselves,<\/p>\n

and touch love.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

And through art,<\/p>\n

they discover<\/p>\n

the meaning of living.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

At first glance,<\/p>\n

things that may not seem essential for survival<\/p>\n

are deeply connected to<\/p>\n

what it means to \"live\" as a human being.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

That is why,<\/p>\n

as an artist,<\/p>\n

I believe that I am fulfilling<\/p>\n

a vital role, a meaningful job,<\/p>\n

for humanity and for the Earth.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

And I continue to devote myself<\/p>\n

to my work with this belief.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>

I actually had the chance to visit<\/p>\n

the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam<\/p>\n

and thoroughly admire the masterpieces.<\/p>\n

I was deeply, deeply moved.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

In an instant, I was drawn in,<\/p>\n

completely immersed in the world of the paintings.<\/p>\n

It felt as if I had forgotten reality,<\/p>\n

as though I were living within them,<\/p>\n

and being in that world felt so comfortable.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Also,<\/p>\n

some paintings emitted a powerful presence,<\/p>\n

as if their intensity pushed me back slightly,<\/p>\n

causing my body to lean backward a little.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Even after hundreds of years,<\/p>\n

these masterpieces continue to move people,<\/p>\n

even though values and perspectives have surely changed.<\/p>\n

They are truly remarkable,<\/p>\n

and I have deep respect for the masters<\/p>\n

who created them.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

The phrase<\/p>\n

\"Masterpieces are treasures of humanity\"<\/p>\n

is one I hear from time to time,<\/p>\n

and it is truly apt\u2014<\/p>\n

an incredibly fitting description.<\/p>\n

For such a long time,<\/p>\n

these works have continued to inspire people,<\/p>\n

and I believe they will continue to do so far into the future.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

The phenomenon of people traveling<\/p>\n

from all over the world, every year and every day,<\/p>\n

just to see a single masterpiece<\/p>\n

is both fascinating and entirely understandable.<\/p>\n

I truly felt this as I admired many of these works myself.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

One day, I hope to stand alongside<\/p>\n

these legendary masterpieces in a museum,<\/p>\n

as a neighbor to these iconic works.<\/p>\n

I will continue to strive for this goal.<\/p>\n
