About Exhibition Cosmic Rhythm:
All existence is one. This fundamental truth of cosmic oneness forms the heart of my creative expression. My work is inspired by the teachings of Siddhartha Gautama, the Buddha(circa 5th-6th century BC), who illuminated the principle of pratītyasamutpāda —”the idea that all things arise and exist in connection with one another.” This teaching of interdependence reflects the profound unity of life, a concept I strive to convey in my art through my dialogue with wood, a material shaped by time and nature’s rhythms.
The grain of the wood embodies the rhythms of the cosmos: the cycles of the seasons, the movements of the tides, and the orbits of the stars. In my artistic process, I honor the wood’s natural patterns, letting them guide me as I paint animals, landscapes, and other motifs that echo the interconnected web of life. Animals, in particular, remind us of our shared existence within nature’s embrace, embodying the purity and balance inherent in the natural world. While humans wield the power to create and destroy, we remain inseparably bound to the same cosmic rhythm that governs all life.
Wood, as a medium, carries a quiet yet profound beauty. Each piece is entirely unique, shaped by the tree’s lifespan and its interaction with the environment. By incorporating the wood’s grain into my work, I aim to reveal its story—a story that reflects the ever-changing, interdependent nature of existence. In doing so, I seek to transform the wood into a bridge, inviting viewers to feel the vast expanse of the cosmos and the unity it represents.
Through this exhibition, I hope you will rediscover the extraordinary in the ordinary—the natural beauty that surrounds us yet often goes unnoticed. By attuning to the rhythm of the wood grain and the universal truth of interconnectedness it mirrors, we enrich our understanding of nature, humanity, and the Earth.
May this exploration inspire a deeper appreciation of the harmony that exists within and around us, fostering a sense of connection that contributes to peace, unity, and compassion in our shared world.
