Explanation: The Rhythm of the Cosmos and the Story of Humanity
This work, created through my original painting technique Cosmic Rhythm, is painted on reclaimed wood, symbolizing a collaboration between the rhythm of the cosmos and the story of humankind.
I regard the wood grain as a visible manifestation of the cosmic rhythm — time, weather, gravity, seasons, and rotation. By painting along this rhythm, I express oneness — the idea that all things are interconnected as one.
The base material was reclaimed from discarded wood sourced from ordinary Dutch households, cleaned, and sublimated into art. Each unique shape, scar, and trace of time holds the memory of human life once attached to it. By picking up what was once thrown away and giving it new life as art, the work metaphorically reflects on environmental issues, the cycle of renewal, and the act of transcendence.
Through the use of phosphorescent and chameleon pigments, viewers can experience the work in multiple layers of perception. At its luminous center lies genuine 24K gold leaf, eternally radiating its golden light — a symbol of unchanging brilliance.
