Cosmic Rhythm | Painting | Kota | Oneness Art

The wood grain is not created by humans, but by the Earth.

In a broader sense, I believe it is the rhythm of the cosmos.

By painting in accordance with (and respecting) that rhythm, I aimed to express the oneness of the cosmos.

...

Based on the assumption that the wood grain visualizes the rhythm of the cosmos, I respect the grain, and create the artwork by following the grain, developing the painting from it. By borrowing the power of nature and following the flow of nature, I express it. I believe this is a form of dialogue with nature, and an act of aligning with the rhythm of the cosmos Through this, I express and establish a cosmic sense of unity.

The wind that stroked the ear of a caribou in the far north.

After a long, long journey.

Now, it gently wraps around me.

Story:Whereabouts

The wind and the caribou (reindeer) have always freely traveled across this world since ancient times.

Once, through a connection, I had the opportunity to stay with a local family in Alaska for an extended period.

During that time, I encountered a herd of wild caribou.

In the midst of minus 20-degree temperatures, with the fierce cold wind blowing, they were either running about or standing motionless.

Their breath, exhaled from their noses, froze the moment it hit the air, sparkling and shining.

I felt a strong vitality from their presence and was deeply moved.

I recall that scene now, far away in Japan.

I believe that the wind that wrapped around and stroked those caribou has likely traveled a long, long journey to reach us here.

When I think about it amidst the busyness of daily life, I am enveloped in a strange feeling.

This world is vast beyond measure.

Yet, the truth remains that everything is always connected.

And, conversely, the wind that enveloped us might still be traveling toward the caribou living in the far north.

Where is the wind traveling from and to?

Where are those caribou traveling from and to?

The outcome of their journey is unknown to anyone.
