Art + Meditation = Energy + Meditation
The meditation session held in my self-created atelier,
Energy + Meditation, has successfully concluded.
In 2023,
on the full moon day of May 6th
and the half-moon day of May 13th,
the session was held in connection with the moon.
To all the participants,
thank you so much for joining.
I hope this experience will prove beneficial
in some way in your future life.
As the host and a participant myself,
this became an irreplaceable
and truly wonderful experience for me.
One day,
when I happen to see a full moon or a half moon in the night sky,
I am certain I will remember this experience.
Whether or not I will hold another session in the future is still undecided,
but if that time comes, I hope you’ll join again.
Below are some of the participants' impressions.
I felt as if I was being told, “It's okay” and I almost cried.

It was my first time meditating, and I was so focused
on following the breathing techniques and body movements
that I’m not sure if I truly entered a meditative state.
However, as I surrendered myself to the words of Kakitani-san
and the sounds of the instruments, I experienced a strange sensation.
The vibrations of the instruments were incredibly soothing,
giving me a feeling as though my consciousness was expanding like water.
Then,
while staring deeply at the painting in front of me,
I felt as though it was telling me,
“It’s okay as it is. You’re fine.”
I was almost moved to tears.
I am grateful to have had such a precious experience,
and I deeply appreciate both Kota-san and Kakitani-san.

I even feel a kind of attachment to the pictures because I see them through my own filter.

I’m a beginner at meditation.
At first, I thought an hour would feel long, but in such an amazing space filled with pleasant guidance, music, and good energy, it passed by in no time.
After meditating, I felt both the refreshing sensation of sweating a lot and the comfortable drowsiness you get after napping to your heart’s content.
It was an indescribably unique experience.
Perhaps because my senses felt sharpened, every piece of art I saw appeared beautiful, as if it directly reflected the meaning I was searching for.
Because I viewed the artwork through my own personal filter, I even felt a kind of attachment to it.
If you have a favorite piece of art, I highly recommend experiencing this firsthand.

I could dive deeper into the world.

The setting was excellent.
As a meditative approach led by an experienced instructor, the session incorporated the playing of instruments such as singing bowls, verbal guidance, and being surrounded by art pieces on all sides.
Compared to meditating alone, I felt like I could dive into a much deeper world.
Both my mind and heart felt refreshed.
Thank you for such a wonderful experience.
■ Who would I recommend this to?
To those who are interested in meditation but hesitate because they don’t really understand it, or to those who want to experience an extraordinary space.

Finally, my brain essentially rested.

This was my first time meditating.
Even when I usually rest alone and let my mind wander,
I often catch myself thinking things like,
"Oh, that happened yesterday,"
or "I need to go buy that before it runs out,"
and so on endlessly. I realized that, without noticing,
I am constantly in conversation with myself, using my brain.
Experiencing the complete cessation of all these thoughts
felt like my brain was finally able to truly rest.
Being surrounded by Kota's artwork
added to the comfort of the space,
making it an incredibly soothing experience.
Thank you so much.
■ Who would I recommend this to?
To those who find life difficult or struggle to accept themselves.
To those looking to reset their feelings.
To those who wish to cultivate more peace of mind.

What came to mind in the midst of feeling tight is the true awareness that I usually suppress.

Focusing on my breathing, posture, and the position and
orientation of each part of my body while maintaining
a state of concentration and emptiness—two seemingly
opposite mental states—was surprisingly challenging.
I’m not sure if I was doing it correctly, but at some point,
I slipped into a sort of dazed state,
which was different from falling asleep.
I couldn’t resist this feeling with my own willpower,
and while it felt intense,
it was also comfortable in a way,
and by the end, I felt refreshed!
During the moments I found challenging,
thoughts arose that I was told
were my true, suppressed consciousness.
Accepting those thoughts made me feel lighter again,
and now I feel more optimistic.
Thank you so much!
■ Who would I recommend this to?
To those who want to detox their mind,
refresh themselves,
or experience something mysterious.

Facing the painting artworks = facing myself
■ Reviews
Surrounded by beautiful paintings in a comfortable atelier space,
I was able to have an extraordinary meditation experience
with great sounds, scents, energy, and wonderful people.
First, we were taught basic yet logical knowledge such as
how to sit, posture, and breathing techniques
in a clear and easy-to-understand way using text materials.
Then, maintaining the posture and breathing method we learned,
the gentle and dreamlike guidance by Kakitani-sensei's voice and instruments
felt incredibly soothing.
There were even moments when I almost fell asleep without realizing it.
During the meditation, I experienced tingling sensations
in parts of my body due to the breathing technique.
I was told this was evidence of energy starting to flow,
which was fascinating to learn.
When the session moved to meditating while looking at paintings,
I found myself in a state of "facing the artwork = facing myself."
I could gratefully receive profound messages,
both from the depths of my own heart and the vast universe.
I was able to truly achieve a meditative state and felt deeply satisfied.
Moving forward, I hope to establish a meditation habit,
even if it’s just for one minute a day. Thank you so much.
The combination of a meditation professional and an art professional
felt like a perfect match.
I’m looking forward to a sequel!
