Poet | Homeward Journey

It's okay

Someday

We will just return to that light

We will just go back to that light

So

Let's live in the present

Let's cherish and embrace the present

Poet | There's a place to go back to

Text: Caribbean Sunset (partial quote)

When you’ve been away from home for a long time,

the extraordinary life of traveling

gradually shifts into the ordinary.

The excitement from the early days of travel starts to fade.

Of course, it’s not just fun,

there are many hardships as well.

There are times when it’s unbearably hard,

or when you get homesick.

But when I think of “home,”

strangely, my heart would calm down.

Home is a “place to return to.”

It’s the familiar, physical space of home,

the familiar people, and the community.

“I have a place to return to.”

The fact that I had a place to return to

was such a strong help to me during the harsh travels.

It became the strength I needed to keep moving forward.

Perhaps the fatigue of traveling had built up.

Maybe the Caribbean sunset made my heart feel at ease.

Yes, I have a place to return to.

So it’s okay.

I can return someday.

So, let’s cherish this moment now.

Song: "Kaerou" (Return)

Partial quote:

"Ah, let’s forget everything and go back,"

"Ah, let’s wash everything away and go back."

"Let’s go back with the refreshing wind,"

"Let’s go back with the gently falling rain."
