Solo Exhibition at My Atelier * Qi

I am pleased to announce that the exhibition has successfully concluded!
(Dates: April 1, 2023 – April 15, 2023)

Art Solo Exhibition “Qi” | Atelier U+Me | The artist’s own DIY atelier | Kota | Oneness Artist

To everyone who visited, made the effort to come,
and spent such wonderful time together with me—
thank you from the bottom of my heart!

I am deeply grateful for the connections I have with all of you.
Despite the ultra-closed nature of the event,
with a reservation-only and undisclosed location,
I was truly blessed to welcome approximately 60 visitors.
(This includes five repeat visitors.)

Amazingly, the average stay time was
three hours per person!
Thank you for taking the time to deeply and patiently
engage with the artwork.

Through the highly abstract medium of painting,
I feel that each person quietly received
their own unique message.
I would be delighted if you could treasure
those messages.

I also hope that, from time to time,
you’ll recall the mysterious sensations
you felt in front of the paintings
and the atmosphere of the atelier,
wrapped in its energy.

For myself, personally,
being able to witness everyone
surrounded by the “Qi” of the artworks and the space,
healed and re-energized before leaving,
was profoundly meaningful.
Thank you so much!

Let’s meet again when the opportunity arises!

Below, I’ve shared some photos and feedback
from the event.

For those who were unable to attend,
I hope this will help convey even a bit of the atmosphere.

Additionally, the words shared by those who fully received
the “Qi” from the artworks at the venue
carry a rich energy themselves.

Simply reading them brings a sense of purification and comfort,
so I hope you’ll take the time to read them leisurely
when you have a moment.

We all have a place to go.

■Who would I recommend this to?

I believe that everyone will receive a message that resonates with them individually.

■Feedback

The message from Kota, "Everyone is connected,"

especially resonated with me.

As I walked around the artwork,

I felt a sense of comfort.

"Everyone has a place to return to,"

"Everyone is being supported,"

In our journey, it feels like

everyone ends up at the same destination...

At the end of the journey, we all gather together

and say, "I saw such amazing things,"

"I had such wonderful experiences,"

and I felt like that's why we live—

to enjoy those conversations.

It was a wonderful experience!

Thank you very much.

A deep, quiet, unspoken comfort.

■Who would I recommend this to?

Everyone

■Feedback

The deep, quiet, indescribable comfort of being alone on the beach.

As if gazing at the sky and sea,

being drawn into the flow and radiance of colors

from various distances and angles,

becoming calm and gentle.

The work reminds me of "Echo" (2022),

and the piece from 2023,

"Sunrise" with the sun rising in the sea and sky.

I feel blessed to encounter these works

that will remain in my memory forever.

■Who would I recommend this to?

To those who seek a calm space

To those who want to feel energy

■Feedback

I felt the energy from each painting,

and it was a very warming and enveloping sensation.

"Sunrise" conveyed love, light,

and a message of "It's okay to just be yourself" ♡

We are one,

we are connected, and we are alive,

Kota's thoughts and soul came through each work of art.

I felt healed, became sleepy,

and received many wonderful inspirations, such as from flowers and shrines.

I am grateful!

It is the kind of work that draws you in and makes you want to keep looking at it.

■Who would I recommend this to?

To those who want to purify their soul

■Feedback

I personally really liked the moon-themed piece (Light Waves).

While sitting and looking at the work, I felt as though I was being drawn into it,

and it was the kind of piece that made me want to keep looking at it.

When I turned off the lights and viewed the piece with just a light source,

it felt more than just a painting,

almost like a kind of installation art,

which I found interesting.

The exhibition space itself, with its focus on lighting and fragrance,

was a wonderful environment.

Everything is connected and affects each other.

■Who would I recommend this to?

Those who want to see and touch beautiful things

Those who enjoy a mysterious and comfortable feeling,

where warmth, loneliness, and nostalgia blend together.

■Feedback

Seeing the works in person is completely different from viewing them on Instagram.

The three-dimensionality and lighting of each piece,

the fine details, the titles and descriptions,

the relationship between the works,

the sounds heard in the atelier, the atmosphere,

and the artist’s words...

Everything is connected and influences each other,

and the more time you spend observing, the more your perception shifts,

allowing you to dive deeper into the experience.

(Second visit)

The first time, I visited during a sunny afternoon, and the warmth of the day made me feel strongly moved by the beauty, warmth, and nostalgia.

But today, on a rainy evening, the beauty was accompanied by a sense of transience and clarity, which gave me a completely different kind of emotional response.

I would definitely love to visit again if another event is planned!

There are not just similar types of artwork,

Today, I went to meet "Hikari."

Kota, who I connected with on Instagram!

Coincidentally... just a few days after connecting,

the timing of the exhibition began.

There was the joy of encountering the real artwork, but...

Art is all about people.

While reflecting on that,

I was able to savor each piece.

It was a great gain to also experience Kota's personality,

and to feel his passion.

I'm excited for your future success!

Grateful for all the encounters ♫

Rather than looking at the painting in front of you, you will feel as if you are looking at the depth and destination of the painting.

■Who would I recommend this to?

People who love nature

People at a crossroads in life

People seeking calm and peace of mind

■Feedback

It was an exhibition where, rather than just looking at the painting in front of me,

I had the sensation of looking beyond the painting, into what lies ahead.

And instead of leading to an end,

it feels connected to the future...

A quiet,

yet certain energy emanated from the pieces,

and inside the atelier, I felt a warm sense of peace.

I received a postcard, but...

Hmm, it's not quite the same.

I am so glad to have seen the real thing this time.

The art ranges from simple, almost crude, streaks all the way to indescribable details at every corner.

The strengths are the presentation of the themes. How he draws inspiration from Native Americans, to novels, and portrays it in his own perspective is powerful. His other strength lies in smooth, impeccable transitions that connect linked ideas flawlessly.

■Who would I recommend this to?

・Travelers.

・People with a perspective on life and death.

I would recommend it to anyone, even those who are not familiar with art.

■Feedback

All of the works are overflowing with energy,

and I could feel the pure and intense energy poured into them.

The space felt very pleasant and soothing.

Some pieces had a style reminiscent of Shinnosuke Otake's scrap mosaic,

and there was a theme of the sun and moon representing yin and yang,

along with elements from indigenous faith, the unity of living beings with nature,

and various materials and perspectives infused with the artist's soul.

Through this, I could feel the wonderfulness of art,

the preciousness and beauty of the world,

and was moved by the world Kota sees.

The way you have sublimated your travels around the world into art is

something I deeply respect!

(I want to ask Monet or Van Gogh, but I can’t.)

Being able to hear directly from the artist about their thoughts behind the artwork,

Thank you for such a lovely exhibition.

Nori-san

In the end

Thank you for reading this far!

I hope you’ve been able to feel the warm energy from everyone’s words.

Finally, a story from the night after the exhibition ended.

While heading to the after-party, I found myself gazing out the window of the bus, drifting in thought.

The streets passing by, lit by various city lights, were glistening with the rain, creating beautiful reflections in every direction.

I thought to myself, “I’m so glad I held this solo exhibition.”

“I’m so glad I paint.”

“Thank you, world.”

“Thank you, everyone.”

“Thank you, me…”

I had put in an immense amount of energy and time preparing for this.

Not just producing a large number of artworks, but even spending a year to create the studio itself.

I dedicated myself to countless tasks, including managing the website and social media.

And finally, the exhibition happened.

I met so many wonderful people.

Even people who didn’t know each other found themselves connected through the exhibition in mysterious ways.

I was happy to bring joy to others.

And now, it’s over.

It feels like it was long but also so short…

As I thought about it, tears began to form naturally.

I knew.

That where there is a beginning,

there is also an end.

Everything is two sides of the same coin.

And,

where there is an end,

there is always a new beginning.

So, an ending is,

at the same time,

the start of something new.

I closed my eyes,

took a deep, slow breath.

Quietly,

I asked myself,

Alright,

what shall I do next?

coming soon.....
